To celebrate the upcoming festive occasion of Christmas, McDonalds UK has started showering gifts through its promotional offer – McDonald’s Gift Drop. This offer will continue from 20 November 2024 to 19 December 2024, and is valid for the residents of the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Channel Islands who are above 18 and are registered on McDonald’s UK app.
This offer is like a game-play in which you have to find the hidden gift tags with the codes printed on them, and then enter those codes in the McDonald’s UK app to get a discounted food offer and a chance to win different prizes.

What to do after getting a code? And what will you get?
Once you get a code from somewhere, simply tap on ‘Gift Drop Asset’ in the McDonald’s UK app , and enter the 5-digit code in the McDonald’s app to get the food offer and possibly a prize.
The food offer everyone will get
As soon as you enter the code, you will instantly receive a discount offer on one lunch/dinner item and one breakfast item. This discount offer has a validity of one day. The discount offer on lunch and dinner item will expire at 23:59 the same day, and the discount offer on breakfast item will expire on 10:59 the next day.
You will be able to access this offer in the section of ‘Offers’ or ‘Offers and Rewards’ in McDonald’s UK app.

You will be able to access your prize list via Gift Drop Wallet. If you win any of these gifts, you can claim it till 23:59 on 23 Dec 2024.
It should be noted that whether you get a prize or not depends upon the time at which you entered the code. If your time of entry matches the pre-defined winning-moment time, and your entry is the first entry in that time, you will get the prize. The pre-defined winning moments have been selected by McDonald’s with due consideration of the fact that at different times of day, the rate of entering codes will be different.
McDonald’s Gift Drop Rules
There are some rules that apply to McDonald’s Gift Drop promotion. You must be aware of them to get the most out of it without wasting your time and effort.
- You can enter only one code in a day from one account. So if you get two codes, you have to wait for the next day to enter another to claim a discount. Remember that next day would start at midnight.
- You can share the code with friends and family. These codes can be used by unlimited number of people.
- One person can enter one code only once during the promotional offer.
- One person can enter maximum 30 codes during this promotional offer.

How to redeem Food Offer
To redeem the food offer, you have to go to the section of ‘Offers’ or ‘Rewards & Offers’ in McDonald’s UK app and order from there. For this purpose, you will tap the button describing the offer. It will add offer in the order, and then you will place the order by selecting a restaurant and the option of either delivery or pick up. Remember that if you choose the pick-up option, you must show the McDonald’s app in your (the winner’s) phone to collect the order.
You can also redeem this offer at the restaurant’s Self Order Kiosk, Service Counter or Drive-Thru by selecting the option of ‘Add to your code’, and give the 4-digit code before placing the order.

How to claim Prizes
Merchandise Prize
If you win a merch prize, it will be shown in the section of “Gift Drop Wallet”. From there, you can claim it by filling the claim form (full name, date of birth, and address is required) and submitting it no later than 23rd December 2024. Your prize will be dispatched to your address within one month of the submission of claim form.
Free Food Prize
In order to claim free food prize, you will select the option to redeem food-voucher prize. After that you will go to the section of “Offers” or “Offers & Rewards”, and place an order from there. For details, see the section of Redeeming Food offer, as the process is the same. And remember that if you choose delivery, the charge will apply.
MyMcDonald’s Rewards Points Prize
If you are a member of MyMcDonald’s Rewards, the reward points will automatically be added to your account balance in 24 hours. However if you are not its member, you have to become a member till 23rd December 2024, and revisit the Gift Drop promotion section. Once you do it, the rewards points will be added to your account.
